Scott Costello, AIA, President /Director of Architecture

Scott Costello, AIA, Silhouette’s Director of Architecture holds architectural licenses in twenty three (23) states, and holds a NCARB Certificate that allows him to obtain licenses in other states.

Scott has worked on commercial, residential, retail and food service projects for over nineteen (19) years. His work is in airports, shopping malls, convention centers, stadiums and street locations.

Scott is also a Self-Certified Architect, having completed the expanded self-certification program for the City of Chicago. Scott also does residential work around the city and outlying area.

He has participated in many roll out programs, including Ethel’s Chocolate Lounge, Eddie Bauer, Ulta Cosmetics, The Grove Natural Snacks, Dunkin Donuts and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

His commercial experience also includes over seven years of bank expansion program management spanning over 40 locations across Illinois, including twelve (12) ground-up facilities and numerous remodels.

Julia Feng, Interior Designer

Julia has a diverse portfolio projects in restaurants, rollout retail shops, commercial offices and residential. With the collaboration of the Architectural team, she strives to create and develop functional, progressive design concepts to tribute to individual client needs. Julia’s past projects include Bourbon House (New Orleans), Nick N’ Tonys Italian Chop House (Cleveland), Hugo’s private Dining(Chicago only), Weber Grill (Chicago), ethel’s Chocolate lounge (Chicago and Evanston rollout), Barney’s New York –Bridal 4th floor(Chicago), So Good Jewelry (Prototype), Eli Tahari and Theory national store and outlet rollouts.

Julia’s projects include Jin 28 and Sushi Junkie restaurants.

Tara Carmichael, Interior Designer

Tara has focused on developing a diverse portfolio of projects, which include retail, commercial office, residential interior architecture, showrooms, fixture development and food service.

Tara is committed to creative collaboration, and seeks to realize the client’s vision in every aspect of the process. Recent projects include, a number of rollout concepts, including The Grove Natural Snacks (national design concept), ethel’s Chocolate Lounge(Chicago and Evanston rollout), True Value (Chicago and Bahamas - complete fixture design), Richmond American Homes Design Showrooms (rollout Las Vegas and California- complete fixture design), The Johnsson Group ( 5,000sf office space, Chicago), P.T. Ferro (6,500sf office space, Joliet, IL).

Since forming Silhouette, the team has been involved architecturally in themed destination projects like the Indianapolis 500 Grill in the new Indianapolis International Airport and the Pacific Aviation Museum Food Court at the historic Hanger 37 at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
